Back-end Developer

We are looking for a passionate Back-end Developer (Medior) who wants to contribute to the further expansion of our most innovative product ever: Memorix Nexus. You will think along for the long-term improvements and support your fellow developers. The team consists of developers who are serious about their work, but there is also room for fun. About Memorix

Memorix makes innovative software for archives and museums to access collections through linked open data. For 25 years, we have been ensuring that this history is preserved for the future.

A museum collection, an archive or a collection of natural history material, carries unique knowledge, connections and stories. Organizing a collection sustainably, connecting it and making it accessible creates new insights and ideas, allows people to wonder and learn new things.

Responsibilities

As a Back-end Developer at Memorix, you will focus on developing and parenting our software solutions and products. We work agile, in 2-week sprints, API-first and Linked Data by design. The work further consists of:

  • Developing new functionality and improving existing functionality in collaboration with the team and product owner;
  • Thinking along with improvements for the (mid) long term;
  • Supporting fellow developers;
  • Code reviews;
  • You will work with Kotlin, Postgresql, ElasticSearch, Docker, Kubernetes, Git, among others;
  • Our application runs on Kubernetes in a CI/CD pipeline using Gitlab and ArgoCD.

What do you bring?

As a Back-end Developer, you are eager to learn, can work in a team and have a passion for programming. Furthermore, you bring:

  • Experience with programming in Kotlin and/or other languages (Medior);
  • Experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL;
  • Knowledge or interest in RDF / Linked data;
  • Experience with devops;
  • Active attitude;
  • Experience working according to Agile (Scrum);
  • MBO/HBO working and thinking level;
  • Good knowledge of the English language.
